Our Story
I'm Mitchell Wemhoff, and I grew up on a farm and ranch in North Central Idaho outside of Kamiah. As a fourth-generation Idaho farmer, agriculture has always been in my blood. On our farm, we grow wheat, barley, canola, alfalfa hay, grass hay (timothy, brome, orchard), as well as other spring rotational crops. The cattle we raise are Black Angus, Simmental, and SimAngus cross. After graduating college, I spent time working in the FinTech industry, but I couldn't shake the dream of returning to the farm and adding my own chapter to our family's story.
That chapter began when I married the love of my life, Alexanderia. Together, we are building a new life on our farm—one rooted in the values we hold dear and driven by our shared vision for the future. We're working to grow the farm into something new and exciting, blending tradition with innovation as we carve out our own path.
My stamp on this operation is bringing our beef directly to you—the consumer. On our ranch, we believe that exceptional beef is the cornerstone of any great meal, and it is our privilege to share that experience with you. That's what Wemhoff Beef is all about: quality beef raised with care, and the personal connection that comes from knowing exactly where your food comes from.
How We Raise Our Beef
Our beef calves start life on pasture with their mothers. After weaning in June, they continue grazing on open pasture throughout the summer and fall months. Come November, when the pasture season ends, they transition into our feeding program where we introduce grass hay and ground barley—grown right here on our farm.
In the spring, when the calves are fully matured, we arrange processing dates with local butchers. These butchers work directly with you to process your animal to fit your exact needs—choosing steak thickness, roast sizes, which cuts you prefer, and any special requests. This ensures you get exactly what works best for your family.
